On receiving an enquiry, we make contact to arrange a meeting. This will usually be at the enquirer's home and at a time to suit them. We are happy to meet elsewhere, for example, at a place of work.
First Meeting
We make no charge for a preliminary one-hour meeting, which is offered without obligation. The discussion is aimed at gaining an overview of your financial situation, needs and requirements. We are then able to confirm whether or not we can help and explain what this will involve. It also enables us to estimate the likely fee and discuss payment options. You are welcome to ask questions and can use the meeting to decide whether you wish to instruct us. We will not be providing advice at this stage.
Our Fees
We charge fees and are happy to undertake work either on a time/cost basis at an hourly rate or alternatively agree a fixed fee for a specified plan of work. We do our best to ensure that you are aware of any costs involved before we commence work and you should never receive a bill unless you have given prior agreement.
Commission
If we arrange a plan on your behalf with a financial institution, our policy is to issue two quotations at the report stage, one with commission and one without. This will enable you to decide whether you wish to pay our fee from your own resources or for us to accept commission and offset this against our fee.
We believe it is important for clients to be fully aware of the costs and commissions involved; nothing is hidden. This enables our clients to make an informed decision on how they wish to pay for the advice and hopefully helps us to build long term relationships based on trust.
